Appointment of a new Director General for Agriculture |
 Mr.K.G. Sriyapala a class one officer of the Sri Lanka Agriculture Service was appointed as Director General of Agriculture. Before appointing to this post he served as Director of Extension and Training Division and then served as first Additional Director General for Agriculture Services.

Official Website of the DOA www.agridept.gov.lk received eWorld award at the eWorld Forum held in New Delhi, India from 1st to 3rd August 2011. DOA website won the first place among the several projects implemented internationally for the use of ICT for agriculture development projects.
