Agricultural policy analysis
The center functions as a major advisory body
supporting the DOA and M/A in the formulation of agricultural policy. Relevant
reports are prepared by the center in regular topics and current issues,
which are taken up for discussion at different stages of agricultural development
and policy impact.
Socio - Economic research
The centre undertakes socio economic researches
independently and in collaboration with other institutes/ centers of the
DOA. The research results are used as information on policy analysis.
Agricultural Planning
SEPC is mainly responsiblefor preparation of
short and long term work programmes for individual institutes centers and
for overall DOA. In addition , the centre assists in the revision of work
programmes as and when necessary in the future.
Compilation of agricultural statistics
The centre collects and collates and maintain
the agricultural statistics in the food crop sector needed for it's own
research programme as well as for the programmes of the DOA and M/A.
Co-ordination of special projects
The DOA does special projects on various disciplines.
The actual implementation of the projects are undertaken by various institutes
and centres. Coordination of these projects between the lending agencies
and the implementing agencies is carried out by the centre.
Progress monitoring and evaluation
The all approved activities undertaken by the DOA are
being monitored and evaluated regularly to provide routine information to the
DOA for increased efficiency.

in seasonal basis starting from 1979.

Reflects mid season situation of paddy and
some of the selected crops.
Monthly Progress report
Shows the monthly progress of crop extent.
AgStat
Collection and collation of mostly wanted statistics
in table forms.(Hand book of statistics.)
