Activities of the HORDI The activities of HORDI in respect of horticulture crops are changed in three lines such as ; 1.
Research and development The Research
and Development activities are carried out in on-Station and on-farm.
The on-Station Research Programme is conducted by several divisions,
namely, Fruits, Vegetables, Root and Tuber Crops, Floriculture, Entomology,
Pathology, Chemistry, Tissue culture, Adaptive Research, Extension and
Training, Biometry and Database Management. The Food research unit is
responsible for Post-harvest Processing and Product Development and
Natural Resources Center work for Management of Natural Resources. Moreover,
collaboration among researchers in different divisions to form multidisciplinary
teams is common to carry out certain research projects. The emphasis
in on-farm research programme is to perform technology adaptation experiments
in farmer fields and to conduct National Co-ordinate variety evaluation
