Print Media

The extension and training centre publishes several printed materials for the benefit of the public in general and for the farming community in particular.  These include leaflets, magazines, techno-guides, etc.  There are in-house publications namely Krushi, a quarterly magazine, and AgTech, a monthly newsletter to update the technical knowledge of those involved in extension, training, research and seed production in the department of agriculture.  These two are published in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages.
The editorial staffs based at the head office prepare these printed materials with the concurrence of the experts on the subjects.  The final camera-ready copies are prepared at the extension and training centre computer unit.  These materials are printed at the press of the department of agriculture located at Gannoruwa.  The centre also publishes two monthly supplements in the newspapers for the benefit of the farming community.  These supplements are published last Friday of every month in Dinamina, Divayina (Govi Sangrahaya) and Thinakaran (Kamatholil Kalanchium) newspapers.
In addition an English paper supplement Farming Horizons is prepared by the centre for the ministry of agriculture and it is published on the second Saturday of every month in Daily News newspaper. The publications meant for the general public are sold through the information centre located at the Peradeniya Galaha Junction and many seed sales centres distributed throughout the country. The following publications are now available for sale to the public.
