services & functions
| i. | Collaborate actively with Individuals, Provincial Councils, NGOO, Business Community and other relevant organizations in Agro Enterprise Development. |
| ii. | Assist in establishing linkages among Producers, Processors, Dealers, Exporters and Government Officials. |
| iii. | Collect and information on Production, Processing, Marketing and Disseminating such information to clients rapidly. |
| iv. | Keep clients informed regularly on the service provided by the Department of Agriculture. |
| v. | Establish an up-to-date data base on commodity price in Sri Lanka and in other relevant countries. |
| vi. | Conducting training programmes on selected fields to promote agri business. |

All courses except course no. 08 will be conducted at the In-Service Training Institute (ISTI), Food Research Institute, Gannoruwa, Peradeniya. Course no. 08 will be conducted at Farm Machinery Training Center (FMTC) Puliyankulama, Anuradapura. The course content will include theory and practical sessions. Trainees would be able to gain practical skills to initiate agri-businesses.
The registration fee for one, two, and three day courses will be Rs. 500/- 1000/- and 1500/- respectively payable by Money order in favour of Director General of Agriculture (paying office as Peradeniya).
Meals and accommodation facilities for the trainees can be
arranged at the In - service Training Institute at Gannoruwa and FMTC at Pulliyankulama,
Anuradapura at following rates.
Accommodation fee per day - Rs. 150/-
All meals per day - Rs. 218/-
These payments are not included in the registration fee. It can be paid on the training day, separately.
